Julie is the co-founder, with Joshua Griffin, of Izlan Oasis—a project that sims to sustain creativity and connection on Duwamish land and beyond. Izlan Oasis offers regular arts workshops, cultural events, and more. The flagship event is the bimonthly Central District Poetry Night.
Julie was a 2022 Jack Straw Writing Fellow. She is currently working on a poetry collection through the framework of Hakka hill songs, an oral storytelling tradition.
Julie’s poetry is included at Summit Sound at the Seattle Convention Center, a public audio gallery that runs seven days a week, from 7am to 11pm.
